TERRITORIAL COMPLEXITY

LU CR at the XI Costa Rica Architecture International Biennale

We proudly announce that in the recently celebrated XI Architecture International Biennale in San José, Costa Rica, LUCR tutor Carlos Umaña won the Honorary Mention in the Research Category with the project Tactical Morphologies, developed for his final project at the MA in Landscape Urbanism programme at the Architectural Association School of Architecture, London UK.

In addition to that, LUCR former students Sergio Frugone and Ricardo Sevilla were honoured two honorary mentions each in the categories of Landscape Architecture and Urbanism, at the Architecture International Student Biennale, with their graduation projects – both developed in the LUCR unit at Véritas University School of Architecture.

The award is given by the Colegio Federado de Ingenieros y Arquitectos de Costa Rica – CFIA, and evaluated by a jury composed of renowned national and international architects from academic and professional backgrounds. It honors exceptional projects in the categories of architecture, landscape and research and it is given every two years as the highest achievement for a project in architecture nationally.

This five honorary mentions received are good indicators that our intentions and attitudes towards reshaping the territory are in focus, and will keep going stronger.
